本次研討會的主題為時間的軌跡（Track of Time），其發想理念為視覺傳達設計的專業與理論基礎發展，可追溯回19世紀工業革命發展之後。 歷經多次的發展與變革，在石版印刷術的研發，突破了大尺寸且圖文並存的海報設計形式；當知識傳達藉由機械的複製以及近代印刷機逐漸的普及化，讓人們對於知識的需求逐漸大眾化，於是讓書籍外觀的設計、版面編輯的技術與整體表現的建構逐漸落實；隨後照相排版技術的應用與設計網格系統的出現，建立了視覺設計表現的手法與原則。然而後續的網際網路流通與資訊視覺化的多元表現在數位革新的時代皆有躍進的創新，其中視覺傳達設計的靜態影像導入了更多的時間元素與概念，進而形成動作的軌跡。 在今日，在元宇宙概念趨勢的引導下，視覺傳達設計所面臨的挑戰是未知且充滿期待的，然而「凡事皆有可能」的年代也賦予視覺傳達設計有時間向度的新發展機會。本年度藉此機會，將邀請國際知名視覺設計師與會，一同探討在此趨勢下，視覺傳達設計發展的軌跡與可能性。

As the theme of this conference “Track of Time”, the concept of professional and theoretical basis of visual communication design can be traced back to the development of the industrial revolution in the 19th century. With the research and development of Lithography, it breaks through the poster design forms which are big images and the graphics with text information after the innumerable evolvements and reforms. At the same time that knowledge transfer begins to be replicated by machines and with the widespread popularity of modern printing presses, people's demand for knowledge has gradually become more popularized. Hence, the design of the book's appearance, the technology of layout editing, and the construction of the overall performance are being attached more attention. After that, the application of phototypesetting technology and the emergence of design grid system establish the techniques and principles of visual design performance. However, the Internet circulation and the multiple manifestations of information visualization have leapfrog innovation in the era of digital revolution. Among them, the static images of the visual communication design import more elements and concepts of time to form the trajectory of the action. Nowadays, we are guided by the trend of metaverse concepts while facing the unknown and expectations in visual communication. However, the era of "Anything is possible" also gives us growth opportunities with time dimension in visual communication design. This year, we will hold on to every chance to invite internationally renowned visual designers to discuss the trajectory and possibilities of the development of visual communication design under this trend.
